All that has not yet become…

And so we welcome a New Year- the weather seems to think that the calendar shifted to March, as it is 45 degrees outside, yet the darkness is still arriving before 5:00pm, and I continue to see sparkling lights shining within people’s homes.

My creativity has been expanding into multiple pathways recently.  The beginning of my new job has invited me to think about artistic principles as they apply to marketing, merchandising, product forms as media, as well as the decoration and consistency of an entire (amazing) establishment.

Though my paint brushes are still active- I sold my last painting of 2010 right before the New Year (a custom pig painting for a loyal local customer).  I am also about to send off my first sale of 2011 to another return customer (from Mass.).  I am constantly amazed at how close to home and how far away my work travels.

“And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been”

-Rainer Maria Rilke
(if you have not read Letters to a Young Poet, please do so)

Thank you to all of my stores, customers, subjects, inspirations, and friends who have made 2010 an amazing creative year and I look forward towards even more growth and expression in 2011!

Thank you Christin. Part of the amazing mystery of creating work is that I never know what life it will have beyond my studio. Nothing fulfills me more to know that you are enjoying yours.
